Do BERTs run true to size?

Yes, but with one tip. The BERT Knit is designed to fit like a second skin, wrapping your foot the way a performance sock would. That close fit is intentional: it's what gives you the sock-like sensation when you wear them.

If you're between sizes, we recommend going down to the smaller size. The knit fabric has natural stretch and will adapt to your foot over the first few wears. Unlike the original BERT, which has a more structured fit, the Knit is more forgiving, but snug is the right starting point.

Are BERTs water-resistant or waterproof shoes?

The BERT Knit handles light water exposure well, a splash, a light rain, a wet campsite morning, and the knit fabric dries quickly. But it's not designed for sustained water contact or river crossings.

If your adventure involves frequent water crossings, paddling, or very wet conditions, we recommend the original BERT instead. The neoprene version is built specifically for that kind of exposure and will serve you better in those environments.

How do I care for my BERTs?

Proper packable shoe care keeps your BERTs looking and feeling great. One of the best features of this packable shoe is that it is machine washable.

Follow these steps:

• Remove the insoles first.
• Place them in a delicates bag.
• Wash on the wool or gentle cycle with a gentle detergent.
• Air dry only, no dryer, no bleach.

Every pair of BERT is an outdoor shoe made in Colombia. Born in Medellín, loved by adventurers worldwide.

Can I wear my BERTs with socks?

You can, but honestly, you probably won't want to. The knit upper is 100% breathable and wraps your foot like a sock already, so most people find wearing socks underneath feels like one layer too many.

That said, if you prefer a little extra cushioning or run cold, a thin low-cut sock works perfectly. Do you have a warranty or guarantee for BERTs?

Yes. We stand behind the quality of every pair. BERT Knits are covered by a 30-day manufacturing warranty from the date of shipment, which covers fabric defects and production issues.

What the warranty covers: stitching, sole separation, or any defect present at the time of manufacture.

What it doesn't cover: wear and tear from use, damage caused by conditions outside normal wear, or issues resulting from water activities beyond what the shoe is designed for.

We offer free shipping for North America, United States, and Colombia. Orders are fulfilled one to three business days after purchase.

Returns and Exchanges

At BERT, we want you to love your shoes. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, we offer the option to return or exchange your item.

• Return Period: You may return any unworn and undamaged item within 30 days of receiving your order.
• Condition of Products: All returned items must be in their original condition with no signs of wear or damage.
• Return Shipping Costs: The cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. We do not cover shipping fees for returns but are happy to facilitate the process.

Refunds

Upon receiving the returned item and confirming its condition, we will process your refund within 7 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method. Shipping costs paid at the time of purchase are non-refundable.

Exchanges

If you would like to exchange your item for a different size or color, please contact our customer service team. You will be responsible for return shipping fees. We will cover the shipping for the new item.

Non-Returnable Items

Certain items, such as personalized or final sale products, may not be eligible for return or exchange. These items will be clearly marked on our website.
