Do BERTs run true to size?
BERT is designed with a wide toe box for natural foot movement. Sizing depends on your foot shape.
- Wide feet: Order half a size up for extra comfort.
- Narrow feet: Order your normal size.
All BERTs have a foam footbed that adapts to the natural contours of your foot over time.

Materials & Care
Are BERTs water-resistant or waterproof shoes?
BERTs are water-resistant. Your feet will stay dry in light conditions like dew or drizzle.
The neoprene upper dries quickly. The EVA insole is removable. Every pair comes with a water-repellent shoe bag. They are not fully waterproof for deep water submersion.
This barefoot shoe waterproof feature makes them ideal for quick changes at camp or trailhead stops.
How do I care for my BERTs?
Proper packable shoe care keeps your BERTs looking and feeling great. One of the best features of this packable shoe is that it is machine washable.
Follow these steps:
- Remove the insoles first.
- Place them in a delicates bag.
- Wash on the wool or gentle cycle with a gentle detergent.
- Air dry only — no dryer, no bleach.
Where are BERTs made?
Every pair of BERT is an outdoor shoe made in Colombia. Born in Medellín, loved by adventurers worldwide.
Can I wear my BERTs with socks?
This is ultimately a personal choice. If you want to wear socks with your BERTs, go ahead! Many customers prefer to wear socks because feet tend to sweat in most shoes.
Do you have a warranty or guarantee for BERTs?
We do not offer a warranty on BERTs. We design and manufacture BERT to stand the test of time. While most customers enjoy BERTs for years, we cannot account for the different ways customers wear their active espadrilles.

How much does shipping cost?
We offer free shipping for North America, United States, and Colombia. Orders are fulfilled one to two business days after purchase.

Delivery & Customs Charges

Terms and Conditions
Returns and Exchanges
At BERT, we want you to love your shoes. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, we offer the option to return or exchange your item.
- Return Period: You may return any unworn and undamaged item within 30 days of receiving your order.
- Condition of Products: All returned items must be in their original condition with no signs of wear or damage.
- Return Shipping Costs: The cost of return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. We do not cover shipping fees for returns but are happy to facilitate the process.
Refunds
Upon receiving the returned item and confirming its condition, we will process your refund within 7 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method. Shipping costs paid at the time of purchase are non-refundable.
Exchanges
If you would like to exchange your item for a different size or color, please contact our customer service team. You will be responsible for return shipping fees. We will cover the shipping for the new item.
Non-Returnable Items
Certain items, such as personalized or final sale products, may not be eligible for return or exchange. These items will be clearly marked on our website.
