Do Berts run true to size?

Bert´s are suitable for both wide and narrow feet. 

The materials we use in our shoes were chosen to adapt to the shape of your foot as you wear them, so they'll offer more give if you have a wider foot, but won't stretch if you have a narrow foot. 

If you have a wide foot: We recommend ordering a size up to make sure that they are super comfortable.

If you have a narrow foot: We recommend purchasing your normal shoe size.

Please note:

All Bert´s have a foam footbed that offers adaptive support to the natural contours of the foot. All our products are unisex and the fit across men and women is the same. If you are between sizes or feet are slightly different in length, we recommend referencing a pair of shoes (similar than ours) you already own for the size and using that to reference our size chart.

Are Berts water-resistant or waterproof shoes?

We are water-resistant: this means that your feet will stay dry while shoes are getting very lightly wet (dew, drizzle). Bert's offer a few extra-special features that make them a perfect option when the weather report is less than ideal:

  • Our main material which is neoprene dries faster than other materials.
  • EVA removable soles which you should take out before getting wet, or if your footbeds get wet during use, remove them from your Bert's and they will get dry sooner than you thought.
  • Rubber soles with trackpads, for extra grip to navigate through any unexpected rainstorm.  
  • Package: all bert's come with a shoe bag that is water-repellent that helps water bead up and roll off the surface of the shoe, keeping them dry if you have them in attached to your bag or bike. 

Are Berts washable?

If your shoes start to feel a little less than fresh, throw them in the washing machine on the wool or gentle cycle. But first, be sure to remove the insoles. For the best results, use your favorite gentle detergent and a delicates bag.
Don’t forget to air dry your shoes just like in the good old days—and whatever you do, avoid the dryer and bleach at all costs!


Were are Berts made?

We are proud to say that all our Bert's are made in Colombia. 

Can I wear my Berts with socks?

This is ultimately a personal choice. If you want to wear socks with your Bert's, go ahead! Personally we prefer to use them with socks because like with almost all shoes feet tend to sweat when socks are not worn. 

Do you have a warranty/ guarantee for Berts?

 We don't offer a warranty on Bert's. We design and manufacture Bert to stand the test of time, and while most customers will enjoy Bert's for years, we cannot account for the different ways that customers will wear their active slippers.

Delivery & Customs Charges

Non U.S. countries may be subject to customs charges, import taxes, and duties. Due to this, during busy periods you may see a delay in your order getting to you whilst it clears through customs. 

Where possible, we always offer the option to pre-pay the charges at checkout, so that you don't have to worry about it afterwards. 

We cannot specify what the extra charges will be, as they will differ from country to country and depend on the total order value. If you do have any questions, contact the customer service team (thebertshoe@gmail.com) and they will try and answer any questions.

Do you offer exchanges?

If you would like to make an exchange for size, we accept unworn, unwashed, and unaltered items purchased directly from our website that are received by us within 30 days of your order date. Send us your "return inquiry" yo thebertshoe@gmail.com and we will give you the exact instructions of how to proceed. 

The exchange is completely free if you are in the US.
